1.NAIL BITING
Nail biting may be a little less common these days but I still see it quite often. It can cause teeth and fillings to chip off and can also cause wearing off of enamel.
2. ACIDIC DRINKS
Cold drinks and other aerated drinks that is more common than milk or any other liquid in between adults is the main cause that led to wearing off of enamel surface. This helps in decaying process. The sugar content that is too high in it promotes decay.
POSSIBLE SOLUTION :-
Avoid these drinks, have some water through out the day at intervals. Avoid drinking aerated drinks, if must, sip by sip instead drink it in one go and rinse after that to remove acids.
3.ICE CUBE CHEWING
Chewing on any ice cube will not make you "RAMBO."Teeth are meant for chewing but not ice cubes.
POSSIBLE SOLUTION :-
Avoid eating ice cubes.
4. BRUSHING TOO HARD
Brushing too hard can lead to wearing off enamel surface. It creates a notch between teeth margin and gum line causing sensitivity and pain also.
POSSIBLE SOLUTION :-
Use a medium or soft tooth brush. Avoid using it too hard. Its not the physical force that removes plaque, its the technique. Use it in circular motion at an 45 degree angle to teeth and gums. If you cannot control the amount of force, use a electric toothbrush instead.
5. GRINDING AND CLENCHING
